Can you think of the best news you’ve ever been given? Maybe it was a new job, an exciting opportunity, or something you’d really been praying hard for.

When I received a scholarship during my senior year of high school, that was the best news. When my dad passed the 5 year milestone cancer free, that was the best news. When I finally found an internship after 2+ years of praying about it, that was the best news. When I watched my littlest brother get baptized, that was the best news.

We have a lot of “best news” things in our lives–sometimes its as simple as you hit all the green lights going to work, or your favorite lunch spot wasn’t sold out of your favorite thing, but sometimes it’s as big as a new grandbaby or a clean bill of health. We receive “best news” all the time, but in all honesty–none of that is the best news ever.

I got some pretty great news last week related to my semester in Ethiopia and my fundraising and, man, am I praising God for his faithfulness and provision, and the way He works through His church to make those things come to fruition. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again–He works all things together for good. All the things. Not just half the things or some of the things… all. the. things.

Praise Him for all the things, friends.

Over a week ago now, as I was driving home for Easter, a song I’d never heard before came on my Spotify radio. It sang:

Some say, “don’t give up” and hope that your good is good enough.

Head down, keep on working, if you could earn it, you deserve it.

Some say, “push on through,” after all, it’s the least that you can do.

But don’t buy what they’re selling–it couldn’t be further from the truth.

What if I were the one to tell you, that the fight’s already been won?

Well, I think you day’s about to get better.

What if I were the one to tell you, that the work’s already been done.

It’s not good news…

It’s the best. news. ever.

(The song is called Best News Ever by MercyMe if ya wanna give it a listen.)

Wow–how timely. Right after mourning Jesus’ death on the cross and all that was paid for on that day, and right before rejoicing in the resurrection. We always here the gospel explained as “the good news”–but pals–it’s NOT good news. It’s not got-an-A-on-a-final kind of good news, got-a-promotion-at-work kind of good news, not even won-the-lottery kind of good news. This is the best news EVER.

The greatest news the world has ever heard!

The kind of news that tells us our sins are forgiven and grace has been given and we have a heavenly home to call our own!! (Like what!!)

We are made heirs with Jesus Christ!! It’s hard to even fathom in the smallest way what that means for us in heaven.

I’m so amazed that on Easter we get to revel in the best news ever, but moreover, that we get to be reminded of that every day–what a glorious blessing.

To update you friends on fundraising/preparing–it’s going well!! I’m really excited this month to be partnering with Go Rings–a mission-minded company aimed at creating handcrafted, ethically-made jewelry. Up to 30% of the profits purchased under my name goes straight toward my fundraising goal! (How COOL.) To support me, add anything you want to purchase to your cart and select my name at checkout–it’s that easy!

I could definitely use prayers for boldness and strength as the end of this school year wraps up. It is hard to believe that it’s all almost over! This summer will be a time of familiar and unfamiliar all wrapped into one–I’ll be working a familiar job, but taking on unfamiliar roles, and will continue to be fundraising through the season. It will definitely be a new challenge, but an exciting one for sure!

As always, if theres anything I can be praying for YOU about, let me know–and reach out if you have any questions/comments/encouragements! I’d love to connect and share more with you.
